The seed industry is the “chip” of agriculture, critical to ensuring national food security. In recent years, China has prioritized seed industry innovation through its “Seed Industry Revitalization Action,” promoting breakthroughs in breeding technologies. This collaboration harnesses the technological resources of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) to advance AI-driven seed innovation, establishing a world-leading intelligent breeding system to support Guangdong’s goal of self-reliance in seed technology.
Hengjian Holdings, a major strategic investment platform in Guangdong, will combine XtalPi’s vertical-domain large models and robotic experimentation expertise with Shouguang Vegetable’s deep industry experience and commercialization capabilities to form an “AI + Seed Industry” Innovation Consortium. This consortium will build an end-to-end R&D ecosystem covering platform development, research breakthroughs, and industrial applications:
