XtalPi Holdings Limited (2228.HK), an AI and robotics company focused on drug and materials discovery, has been included in the HKEX Artificial Intelligence Index. With a weighting of 3.51% as of October 22, 2026, XtalPi ranked among the index’s ten largest constituents by weight.

Launched as part of HKEX’s expansion of its proprietary index offering, the index tracks 40 Hong Kong-listed companies with significant business exposure to artificial intelligence. Its constituents span the AI value chain, from chips, infrastructure, and models to applications such as robotics and autonomous driving. The index includes Tencent, Alibaba, Baidu, and SMIC, providing investors with a broad benchmark for Hong Kong’s listed AI sector.

The index methodology considers research and development spending, capital expenditure, and revenue growth alongside market capitalization in constituent selection and weighting, incorporating measures of business investment and growth into the benchmark. Eligible companies must derive at least 30% of their revenue from one or more defined AI themes.

XtalPi’s inclusion reflects its focus on AI for Science, an application area explicitly covered by the index. By combining AI with autonomous laboratories, the company continues to advance drug and materials discovery and expand the application of AI in scientific R&D.
