Dr. Ma Jian, Co-founder and CEO of XtalPi(HKEX: 2228.HK), has been named a recipient of the prestigious 2024 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Award in China. Selected from numbers of candidates, Dr. Ma stands among 10 exceptional business leaders across mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau recognized for driving technological innovation and sustainable growth.
Established in 1986 and often regarded as the “Oscars of Business,” the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year program now spans 79+ countries/regions.
Chaired by Mr. Ma Weihua, former President & CEO of China Merchants Bank, the independent judging panel evaluated candidates against four global criteria: entrepreneurial spirit, growth impact, purpose-driven leadership, and industry influence. This year’s theme “Elevating excellence for a new innovative era” highlighted leaders advancing new productive forces through technological breakthroughs.
Reflecting on the decade since co-founding XtalPi in 2015 with Dr. Shuhao Wen and Dr. Lipeng Lai, Dr. Ma emphasized: “True innovation demands both vision and execution. Our team’s convergence of quantum physics, AI, and robotic experimentation is redefining R&D paradigms for global life sciences.”
Looking ahead, Dr. Ma outlined XtalPi’s dual mission: “Extending human lifespan through accelerated drug discovery, while expanding our spatial frontiers via advanced material innovations.”
